WE ARE STATE CHAMPS! COME SEE THE PIX & LEARN HOW IT HAPPENED!
Captain Andrew Casali on the mound was spectacular, striking out 7, walking only 2 and going 7 innings with only 1 hit in the fourth inning that was erased by a pretty 4-6-3 double play. Casali faced just two batters over the minimum, had five 1-2-3 innings, and retired the last 11 straight to end the game.

is available on DVD from the CIAC TV Sports site.
When the last pitch came through as a resounding third strike,
the dugout erupted into jubilation, racing out onto the field to a fun pigpile!
Casey Ouellette, who has been the starting catcher for four years, had an RBI sacfly to centerfield to score Lavieri from 2nd.
Matthew Toth throws to Henry Lavieri in a sweet 4-6-3 double play in the fourth
that erased the only Waterford hit of game. Grady Amrhein fielded the ball,
tossing it to Toth, who threw over the outstretched arms of Hoagland to Lavieri.
Post Game smiles from the team leaders:

Henry Lavieri stretched to snag the throw before the runner reached first.
He secured the double play with adept work, while also contributing strong work
at the plate with a one out double in the 2nd that lead to a run.
Alex LaPolice showed some savvy play in the fourth when he walked, then stole 2nd, then scored from 2nd on an outfield error in centerfield.
Brian Moran got the hitting started in the first inning with an RBI double to deep left center.
Casali, from first base, got a good jump on the hit and reached home standing.

Mead Field received several important renovations, thanks to the generous help of the parents and alumni.
The field has a new 20 ft wide scoreboard and a double bullpen. The players are enjoying using the new audio equipment and speakers. The coaches have new field screens, a ball cart, and a hose and reel cart.
We're still interested in replacing the chain link fencing around the backstop ($9500) and to paint the perimeter fences black ($2000) and to put a soft protective topper on the fencing along the first base line ($600). If you'd like to help in anyway, please send a check made payable to
